Hospira brand 30mL bacteriostatic water for injection, USP, is a sterile, multiple-dose, non-pyrogenic water for injection. Contains 0.9% (9 mg/mL) benzyl alcohol added as a bacteriostatic preservative and comes in a plastic bottle.

All reconstitution solution products are stored at Controlled Room Temperature (CRT) before leaving our facility. Once a package is in transit, we are unable to control temperature conditions during delivery.

The Basics
What Is Bacteriostatic Water?
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water that contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. The benzyl alcohol inhibits the growth of bacteria, which is what allows the vial's stopper to be punctured and the contents drawn from more than once.
Because of that preservative, a single vial is a multiple-dose container — it can be accessed repeatedly across its in-use window, unlike preservative-free sterile water, which is intended for a single use.
Once the stopper is first punctured, a multiple-dose vial is typically used within a 28-day window and then discarded, in line with the manufacturer's labeling and standard storage guidance.

What is the difference between bacteriostatic and sterile water?
